Nigeria goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has responded to a Footy-Africa.com question on his future following his standout performances at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

Asked by Footy-Africa correspondent whether it was time to leave South Africa’s Chippa United, Nwabali replied that “time will tell,” adding that he is currently happy at the club.

His comments came after he saved two penalties in the bronze medal match against Egypt on Saturday.

The goalkeeper produced two decisive stops to deny Mohamed Salah and Omar Marmoush from the spot as the Nigeria claimed bronze, ending the tournament on a high note.

Nwabali arrived at the tournament under pressure, with doubts over his place as Nigeria’s first-choice goalkeeper. He finished the competition with two consecutive clean sheets and three penalty saves, including one in the semi-final defeat to Morocco.
