Asante Kotoko’s conveyor belt of emerging talent is set to deliver another export to Europe, with promising youngster Avoka Kwasi Vitus edging closer to a transfer to Serbian side Radnik Surdulica, Footy-Africa can exclusively reveal.

The move, which is expected to be concluded in the coming days, will see the highly-regarded left-footed midfielder take his first major step onto the European stage.

A source close to the player has exclusively confirmed to Footy-Africa the advanced nature of the negotiations, offering Footy-Africa exclusive insight into the deal.

“Everything is basically agreed,” the source revealed. “Vitus and his camp are very happy with the project Radnik Surdulica have laid out for him. They see him as a long-term player, not just someone to rush. The paperwork is being finalised, and barring anything unexpected, the move should be completed very soon.”

Vitus, who announced himself to Kotoko supporters last season after earning opportunities with the senior team, has spent the current campaign sharpening his craft away from Kumasi on loan at Okwahu United in Ghana’s Division One League.

That temporary switch has proven decisive. Regular minutes and increased responsibility have accelerated his development, allowing him to showcase the calmness, intelligence and versatility that first marked him out as one of Kotoko’s most exciting academy graduates.

Comfortable across several roles and technically assured on the ball, Vitus has grown in authority, blending energy with a growing sense of tactical awareness.

His imminent departure further reinforces Kotoko’s status as a fertile ground for young players with European potential. Even during his limited appearances with the Porcupine Warriors’ first team, Vitus displayed an uncommon maturity, dictating tempo from deeper positions, circulating possession confidently and showing no fear of the occasion.

Those qualities have not gone unnoticed abroad. Radnik Surdulica, known for nurturing youthful profiles and integrating them patiently into senior football, view the teenager as a project with significant upside.

The Serbian club are understood to have a clear development plan in place, with Avoka expected to be eased into their system as he adapts to a new environment and demands.
