Adama Sidibeh has officially completed a permanent transfer to Stockport County Football Club, signing a two-and-a-half-year contract from Scottish Premiership side St. Johnstone FC.
Speaking exclusively to Footy-Africa after sealing the move, Sidibeh could not hide his excitement.
“I’m so excited to be sat here now as a Stockport County player. It’s a town and a club I already know so well from my time at Nomads, which made it an easy decision for me and my family to come here once we heard that County were interested,” he exclusively told Footy-Africa.
The familiarity with the area and the club played a key role in his decision, as did the opportunity to finally test himself in the English Football League.
“I can’t wait to get going now, to start my career in the Football League and to play in front of 10,000 fans at Edgeley Park,” he added.
Reflecting on his journey, Sidibeh highlighted the hard work behind the move and his determination to make an immediate impact.
“I’ve worked very hard to get to this place in my career since moving to England, and will work even harder now I’m here to help the team as we go for promotion,” he concluded.

Sidibeh’s arrival is seen as a major boost for Stockport County, both in terms of attacking depth and experience. With his pace, work rate and eye for goal, the club’s supporters will be eager to see him hit the ground running as County continue their promotion push.
The move brings an end to Sidibeh’s spell with the Saints, which began in February 2024. During his time in Scotland, the dynamic forward made 80 appearances and found the net 18 times, establishing himself as a key attacking outlet and attracting significant interest from clubs south of the border.
Last summer, Sidibeh emerged as a top target for several English Championship sides, with a proposed move to Swansea City coming close before collapsing at the negotiation stage. Stockport County have now moved decisively to secure his signature, adding proven quality and ambition to their squad as they push forward in the Football League.
