Abdoulie Ceesay could be on the move in search of regular playing time, with German heavyweights Schalke 04 and Werder Bremen both expressing interest in a loan deal from FC St. Pauli, Footy-Africa can exclusively reveal.

The two clubs are currently reviewing their options, with discussions centered on a straight loan move and no option to buy included. While St. Pauli are open to facilitating a temporary switch to aid the player’s development, the Bundesliga side remains keen on keeping Ceesay tied to the club long-term, viewing him as a key talent for the future.

Ceesay joined St. Pauli last season following an impressive spell with Estonian outfit Paide Linnameeskond, where he built a reputation as a prolific forward. Since arriving in Germany, the 22-year-old has made 21 appearances in the Bundesliga, gaining valuable experience at the top level despite not yet replicating his goal-scoring form from Estonia.

This season, however, opportunities have been limited. Ceesay has accumulated just 185 minutes of action so far, with his most significant outing coming in the DFB-Pokal clash against Hoffenheim. The lack of consistent minutes has prompted both the player and the club to consider a loan move as a practical solution.

For Ceesay, the priority is clear: regular football. A temporary switch to Schalke 04 or Werder Bremen could provide the platform he needs to rediscover rhythm, confidence, and form in front of goal.

For St. Pauli, a carefully chosen loan spell would allow their young attacker to continue his development while remaining part of the club’s long-term plans.
