Danish club AC Horsens has secured the services of highly rated Gambian youngster Ismaila Ceesay on a one-year loan deal from ESohna Football Academy, in a move that underscores the growing recognition of Gambian talent on the European stage, Footy-Africa can exclusively reveal.
The agreement, which includes an option to make the transfer permanent, is valued at โฌ20,000 for the initial loan period.
Sources close to the deal have indicated to Footy-Africa that AC Horsens is seriously considering triggering the buy option, depending on the playerโs development and performance during the season.
Ceesay, just 17, attracted significant interest across Europe and beyond, with several notable clubs reportedly competing for his signature. Among those were Norwegian side Sarpsborg 08, Turkish giants Beลiktaล, Brazilian powerhouse SE Palmeiras, and Swedish club IFK Gรถteborg. Despite this strong competition, AC Horsens moved decisively to win the race, signalling their confidence in the wingerโs potential.
The young left-sided attacker is regarded as one of the most exciting prospects to emerge from ESohna Football Academy, known for developing technically gifted and disciplined players. His move to Denmark presents an important step in his career, offering him exposure to European football and a platform to further refine his abilities.
