Gambian forward Adama Bojang has committed his long-term future to Stade de Reims after signing a new contract extension that will keep him at the French club until 2031, Footy-Africa can exclusively confirm.
The new agreement is a major show of confidence from Reims, rewarding the 22-year-old with an improved and lucrative contract following his steady development since arriving in France.
Despite extending his stay, Bojang’s immediate future remains the subject of discussions, with several clubs expressing interest in taking the Gambian international on loan for the 2026/27 season.
English Premier League side West Ham United is among the clubs that have submitted a loan proposal, while a number of Belgian clubs have also entered the race to secure the striker’s services. Negotiations are currently ongoing between the interested clubs, Stade de Reims, the player’s representatives and his agent, Cherno Samba.
An agreement regarding Bojang’s next destination is expected to be reached soon, with all parties working towards a solution that best supports the player’s continued development.
Bojang joined Stade de Reims in 2023 before spending the 2024/25 campaign on loan at Swiss Super League side Grasshopper Club Zürich, where he impressed with a series of mature performances that enhanced his reputation as one of Gambian football’s brightest attacking talents.
Following his return to Reims, the striker enjoyed his first full season with the club’s senior team in Ligue 2. He made 30 appearances in all competitions and scored three goals, gaining valuable experience in one of Europe’s competitive leagues while continuing his adaptation to French football.
The decision to hand Bojang a long-term contract until 2031 demonstrates Reims’ belief in his potential and their intention to keep him as part of the club’s future plans. However, another loan spell is viewed as a strong possibility to ensure he continues receiving regular first-team football.
With talks progressing and interest from England and Belgium intensifying, Bojang’s future is expected to become clearer in the coming days.Â
