Ebrima Singhateh‘s Gambian agent, Modou Lamin Beyai, in an exclusive interview with Footy-Africa has reflected on the players’s journey and the significance of his move to AC Sparta Prague on a four-year permanent contract from fellow Czech Premier Liga side FK Jablonec.
Speaking exclusively about the transfer, Singhateh’s Gambian agent, Modou Lamin Beyai, who is celebrating one year today since making the last major move in the Czech Republic with Youssoupha Sanyang joining SK Slavia Prague, .
“Singhateh’s move to Sparta Prague is a reward to him for years of hard work, humility and patience. He is a very loyal, humble and hardworking boy who has earned every step of his journey. From Real de Banjul, he moved to Estonia with Paide in 2022 before signing for Slavia Prague later that same year,” Beyai said.
Although Singhateh never made a first-team appearance for Slavia Prague, his professionalism never wavered. He continued to contribute to the club’s B team while gaining valuable experience through loan spells at FC Sellier & Bellot Vlašim, Sigma Olomouc and later MFK Karviná.
“Despite not making a first-team appearance for Slavia, he never complained and always remained professional, helping the B team and accepting loan moves to FC Sellier & Bellot Vlašim, Sigma Olomouc and later MFK Karviná,” Beyai added.

According to the agent, several clubs had expressed interest in the player over the years, including teams from abroad, but Singhateh remained patient and trusted the long-term plan.
“Throughout his time in Czech football, there were numerous offers for him, including from top clubs abroad, but he always stayed patient, listened to our advice and trusted the process,” Beyai explained.
That patience eventually paid off at FK Jablonec, where the player flourished under the guidance of the club’s leadership and coaching staff.
“That humility and dedication eventually brought him to FK Jablonec, where everyone from the owner to sporting director Zdeněk Koukal, head coach Luboš Kozel and his staff gave him the opportunity and confidence to showcase his qualities, ultimately leading to another important transfer.”

Beyai also revealed how quickly Sparta Prague’s interest developed.
“Sparta Prague’s interest developed extremely quickly. We first learned about it while Ebrima and I were in The Gambia celebrating Eid and shortly afterwards we were on a flight to Prague to complete the formalities.”
The agent praised Sparta Prague for the manner in which they handled negotiations and highlighted the role played by sporting director and former Arsenal star Tomáš Rosický.
“Sparta demonstrated immense professionalism throughout the process. Arsenal legend and the club’s sporting director Tomáš Rosický played a very influential role in making the transfer happen. We are grateful for the trust he showed in both Ebrima and ourselves. It is also important to say that Sparta Prague has always been Ebrima’s dream club in the Czech Republic and this he has been saying since day one. Joining the record Czech champions is a dream come true for him and I am very happy that together we have been able to make that dream a reality.”

The 22-year-old joins the Czech giants after spending just four months at Jablonec, where his performances quickly established him as one of the league’s most exciting attacking talents. Renowned for his dribbling ability and impressive underlying statistics, Singhateh attracted strong interest before Sparta Prague moved swiftly to secure his signature.
Singhateh now begins a new chapter with one of Czech football’s most successful clubs and will be hoping to play a key role as Sparta Prague pursues qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League through the qualifying rounds.
