Ghana international Alidu Seidu has delivered an inspiring response to the Black Stars’ disappointing 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign, promising to use the setback as motivation rather than allowing it to define his future.
The versatile defender took to X to address supporters for the first time since Ghana’s elimination, offering a message of resilience, gratitude, and determination after the nation’s hopes of a deep World Cup run were cut short.
Reflecting on the painful exit, Seidu admitted the disappointment was significant but made it clear that he remains fully focused on improving and returning stronger.
“A lot of disappointments, but this is far from the end. The only thing that can change my opinion is hard work, and that is exactly what I’ll keep doing every single day. I truly believe there are great things ahead; I’ll keep trusting God’s plan.”

The 26-year-old also reserved special appreciation for fans and everyone who has remained behind him during both the highs and lows of his career.
“To everyone who stood by me and continues to support me, thank you!”
Seidu featured in Ghana’s World Cup squad as the Black Stars progressed to the Round of 32 before their journey ended with a narrow defeat to Colombia.
His statement adds to a growing wave of reactions from members of the national team, many of whom have begun looking beyond the World Cup disappointment as attention gradually shifts towards Ghana’s preparations for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign.
