Highly rated Gambian-born forward Ansumana Samura is on the verge of completing a permanent move to Sudanese giants Al Hilal SC from Gambinos Stars Africa after the two clubs reached a full agreement, Footy-Africa can exclusively reveal.
The talented attacker has already travelled to finalize the transfer, with only the remaining formalities standing between him and an official unveiling by one of Africa’s most successful clubs.
Samura earned widespread recognition following an outstanding loan spell with Senegalese Ligue 1 side Casa Sports during the 2025/26 season. He enjoyed a breakthrough campaign, scoring seven goals and providing eight assists to establish himself as one of the league’s most exciting young attacking talents.
His performances have also sparked growing interest at international level. Although Gambian-born, Samura is yet to decide his international future and remains eligible to represent both The Gambia and Senegal.
The youngster recently trained with The Gambia Under-23 national team under the supervision of Scorpions assistant coach Abdou Jammeh, while reports indicate that Senegal is also keen to recruit him for its Under-20 side.
A move to Al Hilal SC would mark another significant milestone in Samura’s rapidly rising career, providing him with the opportunity to compete for one of Africa’s biggest clubs while continuing his development on the continental stage. He will become the second Gambian to sign for the Sudanese-record champions, and now the third to play for the club.
