Czech champions Slavia Prague have won the race to sign highly rated Nigerian midfielder Emmanuel Ayaosi from MFK Karviná after the midfielder’s impressive performances this season, Footy-Africa can exclusively confirm.

The 21-year-old had been widely expected to leave Karviná during the January transfer window, with several clubs showing strong interest in securing his services. However, a move failed to materialise after interested parties were unable to reach an agreement with his club.

Another Czech heavyweight, Viktoria Plzeň, were believed to be among the frontrunners for his signature, but newly crowned league champions Slavia Prague have now moved ahead of the competition and are set to land the Nigerian midfielder, according to sources close to the negotiations.

“They have followed him for some time and have now gotten their man. In a matter of days, it will be sorted, as all the paperwork has been completed,” a source familiar with the deal exclusively told Footy-Africa. “I can confirm to you that the deal is 100 percent done, and it is now only a matter of time before they make it official.”

“He is a good player who has been on the radar of many clubs, but Slavia Prague have beaten others to sign him. The player is happy with everything and is looking forward to playing for the champions,” the source concluded.

Ayaosi has been one of the standout performers in the Czech Chance Liga this season and played a key role for Karviná with his energy, creativity, and consistency in midfield.

The Nigerian midfielder finished the campaign with an impressive return of seven goals and 10 assists in 40 appearances across all competitions, form that has now earned him a deserved move to the Czech champions as he prepares for the next step in his career.
