The future of Gambian forward Abdoulie Manneh is expected to become clearer by Monday, as transfer developments intensify around the highly rated 21-year-old, Footy-Africa can exclusively report.

English Premier League side AFC Bournemouth have reportedly pulled out of the race to sign the striker due to his ineligibility to feature immediately in the Premier League, leaving the door open for strong contenders in the English Championship.

Manneh attracts attention from Premier League clubs: Stoke City joins the race

According to sources closer to the player, Coventry City are now leading the pursuit, having tabled an offer of around €5 million to Swedish champions Mjällby AIF for the player’s services. Championship rivals Stoke City are also in contention for his signature, but Coventry’s early and decisive move appears to have put them in pole position.

Manneh, who has been nominated for the 2024 Allsvenskan Best Forward Award, enjoyed a stellar campaign with Mjällby AIF. The prolific attacker contributed 7 goals and 4 assists, playing a pivotal role in the club’s historic championship-winning season and cementing his status as one of the league’s most exciting young talents.

Manneh’s transfer drama: fake failed medical and pressure from Olympiacos

With Bournemouth now out of the picture and both Coventry and Stoke pushing to strengthen their squads ahead of the next window, Manneh’s next destination looks set to be decided imminently. All eyes will be on Monday as negotiations approach their decisive stage and the young Gambian star edges closer to a major career move.
