Former England striker Darren Bent has heaped praise on Ghanaian star Mohammed Kudus, describing his move to Tottenham Hotspur as one of the standout transfers of the summer.

Kudus, who sealed a Β£55 million switch from West Ham United earlier this window, made an immediate impact on his debut. The 25-year-old midfielder registered two assists as Spurs brushed aside Burnley 3-0 in their Premier League opener on Saturday.

Bent, speaking on Premier League Productions, was glowing in his assessment of the Black Stars attacker.

β€œMohammed Kudus’ signing is a fantastic one for Tottenham,” Bent said. β€œHe looks sharp on the ball, full of confidence, and he’s only going to get better. To step in on debut and create two goals shows exactly the kind of player Spurs have brought in.”

The ex-Aston Villa and Tottenham forward further highlighted Kudus’ versatility and dynamism as qualities that will excite the North London club.

β€œWhat I really like about him is that he’s direct, he’s strong, and he’s got that bit of magic to unlock defenses. Spurs fans should be buzzing because this lad is special.”

Kudus’ blistering start has already raised expectations, and the midfielder will look to carry that momentum into Tottenham’s next challenge, a tough trip to the Etihad Stadium to face reigning champions Manchester City on Saturday, August 23.
