Dutch-born Ghanaian forward Ernest Poku is set to join Fiorentina from Bayer Leverkusen on loan, with Footy-Africa able to confirm.
The 23-year-old has given Fiorentina the green light to complete the move, with the deal now at the final stage.
Poku will join on an initial loan deal with an option to buy, which could become an obligation if certain conditions are met. The total package could reach β¬22 million.
Fiorentina are pushing to complete the deal this week and have agreed a contract with Poku until 2031, structured as a one-year loan followed by a further four years if the transfer becomes permanent.
Poku is keen on the move as he looks for more regular playing time after making 29 appearances for Leverkusen last season, playing 1,485 minutes and contributing five goals and seven assists.
He joined Leverkusen from AZ Alkmaar in August 2025 for a reported β¬10 million plus β¬2 million in potential add-ons and signed a contract until June 2030.
Fiorentina are now working to complete the final details of the agreement before Poku makes the move to Serie A.
