Sassuolo are on the verge of securing the services of Gambian winger Alieu Fadera, with a loan deal from Como 1907 reportedly agreed in principle. The deal, which includes a €1 million loan fee and a €10 million option to buy, marks a significant move for the 23-year-old talent as he continues his rise through the European football ranks, Footy-Africa has exclusively learned.

Sources close to the negotiations confirm that both clubs have reached an understanding on the framework of the transfer, which could be finalised as early as next week, pending agreement on personal terms between Fadera and Sassuolo.

Como 1907, however, are seeking to protect their long-term interests. The Serie B side have submitted a counterproposal that includes a buy-back clause, ensuring they retain the option to re-sign Fadera should he flourish in Serie A. The exact terms of the buy-back fee are still being negotiated but are viewed as a key component from Como’s perspective, highlighting their belief in the player’s potential.

Fadera, who joined Como in 2023, has impressed with his pace, technical skill, and ability to stretch defences. His performances have drawn attention not only in Italy but also from clubs abroad. Sassuolo, looking to bolster their attacking options following a transitional season, see Fadera as a promising addition who fits their dynamic, youth-oriented playing style.

Alieu Fadera Set for Loan Move to Sassuolo: A New Chapter in His Serie A Journey

Should the deal go through, Fadera would become the latest in a line of talents to use Sassuolo as a stepping stone to higher levels of European football, following in the footsteps of players like Jeremie Boga and Domenico Berardi.

Negotiations over personal terms are ongoing but are not expected to present significant obstacles. All parties are optimistic that the final details will be ironed out in the coming days, allowing Fadera to link up with his new teammates ahead of the start of the 2025/26 Serie A campaign.

The move reflects Sassuolo’s continued commitment to investing in young, high-upside talent and Como’s strategic approach to player development and asset management. If successful, this deal could benefit all parties—Fadera included—as he takes the next step in his promising career.
