Ghanaian striker Jerry Afriyie is set to continue his development in Europe after sealing a loan move to Belgian side RAAL La Louvière from Saudi Arabian club Al Qadsiyah, Footy-Africa can exclusively reveal.

According to sources close to the deal, the agreement has been finalised and is only awaiting an official announcement from both clubs.

The move comes after Afriyie returned to Al Qadsiyah following a productive loan spell at Spanish Segunda Division side CD Lugo last season.

Afriyie, 24, joined Lugo in the second half of the 2024/25 campaign and made an instant impact, scoring four goals and earning praise for his work rate and attacking presence. Lugo had initially expressed interest in retaining him, but his representatives pushed for a fresh European challenge to further his growth.

“RAAL La Louvière presents him with an opportunity to experience top-flight European football,” the source told Footy-Africa. “This was a decisive factor in choosing Belgium over staying in Spain or returning to Saudi Arabia.”

The move is understood to be a free loan, with no transfer fee involved. Afriyie still has three years remaining on his Al Qadsiyah contract, which runs until June 2028. His current market value is estimated at €200,000.

RAAL La Louvière will be counting on the former Ghana youth international’s pace, finishing ability, and versatility in attack as they aim to make an impact in the Belgian Pro League this season.
