Highly-rated Gambian midfielder Gibril Sosseh (19) is quickly becoming one of the most sought-after young talents in Scandinavian football, following confirmed transfer interest from MLS side Philadelphia Union and Czech giants SK Slavia Praha.
Sosseh, who plies his trade with Kalmar FF, enjoyed an impressive campaign in the recently concluded Swedish Superettan season, playing a pivotal role in the club’s successful push for promotion to the Allsvenskan. Kalmar finished the season as league runners-up, sealing a return to Sweden’s top flight with the teenage midfielder firmly at the heart of their squad.
The former BST Galaxy FC star featured 24 times across the campaign, making 13 starts and clocking approximately 1400 minutes. His contribution went beyond maturity and composure in midfield, as he also chipped in with three crucial goals, underlining his growing influence in attacking transitions.
Kalmar FF are understood to be open to selling Sosseh during the current transfer window, should a suitable offer arrive. With interest now emerging from both North America and mainland Europe, the club faces a key decision on whether to cash in on one of their brightest prospects or retain him for their Allsvenskan return.
For Sosseh, the reported interest from Philadelphia Union, renowned for youth development, and Slavia Praha, regular contenders in European competitions, reflects his rapid rise and growing reputation beyond Sweden. At just 19, the Gambian midfielder appears poised for the next big step in his career.
