As Footy-Africa have previously reported, Hungarian club Zalaegerszegi TE have won the race to sign highly rated Nigerian youngster Isaac Chukwudi from Beyond Limits Academy, edging out strong interest from clubs in Scandinavia.
Speaking exclusively to Footy-Africa, an insider at Beyond Limits Academy revealed the youngster’s excitement about the move and belief that the timing is right.
“He is excited to resume his career in Europe as his other teammates have also moved abroad. He has been waiting for his time and the time is now,” the source said. Chukwudi is a great guy with good technical abilities. He is humble too and that is a good way to live if you want to make it to the top. He is one I am sure will make waves soon if he continues this way.”
“Yes, there were other clubs, especially in Norway and Denmark, but the Hungarians had a better plan in my opinion and that is why the transfer was able to go through. I believe he is going to be one for the future for Nigeria as he has the talent and personality to raise his game. Give two to three years and we will come back to this message,” he concluded.
Isaac Chukwudi signs for Zalaegerszegi TE FC on four-and-half year deal
The 18-year-old winger has been on the radar of European scouts since he was just 16, with teams in Denmark and Norway closely monitoring his progress. However, it is Zalaegerszegi TE who have now secured his signature after fending off late pressure from Danish side Lyngby and Swedish giants Malmö FF.
Isaac’s move comes as a reward for years of steady development at Beyond Limits Academy, where he joined the program at the age of 13.
Over the years, he has worked his way through the ranks, catching the eye with a series of impressive performances, particularly in the regional Creative Championship League (TCC). His pace, directness and technical quality on the wings have marked him out as one of the academy’s most exciting prospects in recent seasons.
Although the financial details of the deal were not disclosed, sources indicate that Beyond Limits Academy are expected to retain a sell-on clause, ensuring they benefit from any future transfer as Isaac continues his rise in European football.
