Ghana international Jesurun Rak-Sakyi is on the verge of making a permanent return to Charlton Athletic, with the Championship side understood to be nearing an agreement with Crystal Palace for the winger.
Footy-Africa understands that negotiations between the two clubs have reached an advanced stage, with the final details of the transfer now being ironed out.
Rak-Sakyi is reportedly at Charlton’s training ground today, where he is expected to undergo a medical before completing the formalities of his proposed move back to The Valley.
The 23-year-old already has a strong connection with the Addicks, having previously spent time at the club on loan and emerging as one of their most productive attacking outlets.
During his previous spell, Rak-Sakyi featured 49 times across all competitions, registering 15 goals and eight assists. His displays during the 2022/23 campaign underlined his attacking pedigree and subsequently prompted a return to parent club Crystal Palace.
Although Palace have continued to value his qualities, opportunities to establish himself as a regular Premier League starter have proved difficult to come by.
He was therefore sent out on loan again during the second half of the 2025/26 campaign, joining Championship side Stoke City. The winger made 15 appearances for the Potters, scoring twice before returning to Palace at the end of the season.
A permanent move to Charlton would now offer Rak-Sakyi the opportunity to settle at a club where he has already demonstrated his ability to make a significant impact.

The transfer would also carry added significance on the international stage. Born in England but of Ghanaian heritage, Rak-Sakyi recently pledged his international allegiance to the Black Stars and made his senior debut for Ghana in March 2026, featuring in the friendly against Mexico.
Regular football at Charlton could prove crucial as he seeks to build momentum at club level and strengthen his claim for a more prominent role within the Ghana setup.
For Charlton, meanwhile, the prospective acquisition represents a statement of intent. Rak-Sakyi’s explosive pace, willingness to attack defenders, creativity and eye for goal would give their forward line another dimension as they prepare for the new Championship campaign.
With his medical and contractual procedures understood to be underway, the Addicks are increasingly confident of completing the deal, subject to the final outstanding details being settled with Crystal Palace.
