Jonas Jensen-Abbew has opened a new chapter in his career, leaving Danish champions Aarhus GF to join Dutch side ADO Den Haag on a long-term deal.
The Denmark-born Ghanaian centre-back has signed terms that will keep him at ADO Den Haag until June 2030, bringing his spell in Danish football to an end after more than two years.
The 24-year-old defender arrives in the Netherlands with his stock rising after playing a role in Aarhus GF’s memorable 2025/26 campaign, when the club captured the Danish Superliga title. It was the first senior silverware of Jensen-Abbew’s career.
His departure comes just weeks into the new season, having remained part of Aarhus GF’s plans during the opening fixtures. He featured twice in Champions League qualifying before making one Superliga appearance, then completed his transfer to ADO Den Haag on 26 August.

Jensen-Abbew’s European outings came in Champions League qualifying, where he accumulated 134 minutes, giving him valuable exposure to continental football before his move abroad.
Now, he will test himself in a new environment as ADO Den Haag look to bolster their defensive ranks with a centre-back who combines physical presence with recent experience at the top end of Danish football.
Standing at 1.89 metres and naturally right-footed, Jensen-Abbew has developed primarily as a central defender. His move to ADO represents his first venture outside Denmark.
He arrived at Aarhus GF in February 2024 from Nordsjaelland, following an earlier loan spell with HB Koge. His footballing education, however, began much earlier at Nordsjaelland, where he progressed from the club’s youth setup after joining FCN Youth in 2019. Before that, he had spent time at AB Youth.
Born in Herlev, Jensen-Abbew possesses both Danish and Ghanaian nationality, giving him eligibility to represent either country at international level.
His current market valuation is estimated at €750,000, with his peak valuation reaching €900,000.

ADO Den Haag will therefore be acquiring a defender arriving at a significant stage of his development: a title winner in Denmark, recently exposed to Champions League qualifying and now embarking on his first professional adventure beyond Danish football.
The move brings Jensen-Abbew to the Netherlands on a contract extending through June 2030, with ADO Den Haag hoping his experience and defensive profile can strengthen their backline for the challenges ahead.
