Premier League giants Liverpool FC have reportedly made an initial approach for Gambian international Yankuba Minteh ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window as the club intensifies plans to strengthen its attacking options.
The 21-year-old winger has been on Liverpool’s radar for a long period following his impressive development in English football, and interest has now begun to grow stronger following another solid campaign with Brighton & Hove Albion.
Minteh recently completed his second successive season with Brighton, helping the Seagulls secure continental qualification for the 2026/27 UEFA Europa Conference League. Despite strong competition within the squad, the Gambian star continued to show flashes of his pace, creativity and direct attacking ability throughout the season.

Another factor reportedly strengthening Liverpool’s interest is Minteh’s existing relationship with head coach Arne Slot, who is understood to admire the winger’s style and long-term potential, dating back to their time together at Feyenoord in the Netherlands.
While conversations remain at an early stage, with no formal move made yet, Minteh’s future at Brighton is expected to attract increasing attention as the transfer window approaches.
