Danish-born Gambian midfielder Mass Sise has officially completed a move to Serbian Super League outfit FK Javor Ivanjica, signing a three-year contract after leaving Swedish club Utsiktens BK on a free transfer.

His agent, Bakary Bojang, in an exclusive interview with Footy-Africa described the move as a carefully calculated decision aimed at accelerating Sise’s development and market value.

“The plan is to sell within a season,” Bojang revealed, outlining the long-term vision behind the transfer.

Despite attracting concrete interest and offers from clubs in Holland, Sweden, Denmark, and Norway, Sise and his camp opted for FK Javor Ivanjica due to the club’s clear sporting project and development-focused environment. He scored 5 goals and provided 3 assists in 27 league matches.

“I believe this club is a very good step for him from a sporting perspective,” Bojang said. “We had several meetings with the club, and we were very impressed by their approach to player development and the culture within the club.”

According to Bojang, FK Javor Ivanjica presented a well-structured plan on how they intend to develop and integrate Sise into the team, making it evident that the club sees him as an immediate contributor rather than a long-term gamble.

The Serbian side’s experience in handling players arriving from Scandinavian leagues also played a key role in sealing the deal.

“The club is very experienced in working with players who have previously played in Scandinavia, which made the transition even more natural,” Bojang added. “From the first discussions, it was clear that they genuinely want him and see him as a player who can grow within their project.”

Beyond club ambitions, the move carries national significance for the young midfielder. Regular performances in the Serbian Superliga could place Sise firmly on the radar of The Gambia national team selectors.

“With consistent performances in the Serbian Superliga, I strongly believe this move can help bring Mass closer to the Gambia National Team, which is an important objective for his career development,” Bojang concluded.

The 22-year-old’s switch marks a significant step in his career as he transitions from Scandinavian football to one of Europe’s increasingly competitive leagues.

As Mass Sise begins this new chapter in Serbia, expectations will be high for the promising Gambian to make an immediate impact and use FK Javor Ivanjica as a springboard to greater heights in European football—and potentially, the Scorpions’ national colours.
