Nigerian winger Tunde Akinsola has completed a move to Belgian Pro League side Cercle Brugge from Portuguese club AVS Futebol SAD.
Manji Jpahhet, an official of Valiant Football Club, the player’s academy in Nigeria, said he has no doubt the player will shine in Belgium.
“Akinsola spent time with us before he left, and Valiant have been part of his development since then. We are happy with the deal for the player. He is a fast, direct and pacy attacking player who can take on defenders, create chances for his teammates, and score goals too.”
“He signed a four-year deal with Cercle Brugge, which is a good move for him because of the plans the club have for him. There will be more freedom for him to play attacking football at Cercle. The contract has an option for a fifth year, which I feel is good for his stability.”
“There was interest from clubs in England, France and Italy, but Belgium was agreed as the best place for him. Cercle fans are in for an exciting time with Akinsola.”
The 23-year-old has signed a contract running until June 2030, with the Belgian club holding an option to extend the deal for an additional season.

Akinsola arrives at the Green-Black side after developing his career across Sweden, Spain and Portugal, following his time with Valiant FC of Lagos.
The versatile winger, who can operate on either flank, is expected to bring pace, directness, and attacking variety to Cercle Brugge’s forward line. His ability to play on both sides of the attack gives the Belgian club another option as they look to strengthen their offensive department.
Akinsola has joined up with his new teammates after his unveiling by the club.
Cercle Brugge will be hoping his speed and attacking qualities can make a difference as he settles into Belgian football and competes for a place in the team.
