Ugandan international and attacking midfielder Rogers Mugisha has reached an agreement to join 13-time Uganda Premier holders KCCA FC, with the latter scheduling his medical for Thursday, Footy-Africa can exclusively confirm.
Mugisha, who is currently a free agent, after the expiry of his contract at 2023/24 Uganda Cup winners Kitara FC, will sign a three-year contract at KCCA after his medical tests. The club has won the race that also had South African side Durban City FC and Algeria’s Paradou AC.
A source at his agency All Conti Sports, has disclosed that the player will smile to the bank with €31,000 as sign-on bonuses and a monthly salary of €1,800. The club has also set his unveiling to take center stage before the end of the week.
“KCCA have won the race for Rogers (Mugisha), and he will sign his contract tomorrow immediately after his medical tests, it’s now a done deal. KCCA have given him €31,000 as sign-on fees and €1,800 as salary, but it’s the kind of project that attracted him the most. He is a big signing despite his age, and will play an important role to help the club return to the continent,” the source exclusively intimated to Footy-Africa.
In his debut and only season at Kitara, Mugisha has played 17 matches across all competitions, scoring three times and assisting on four occasions. His versatility, pace and technical ability have stood out. In the past, he played for UPDF FC in Uganda, Kenya’s Gor Mahia FC and Danish side FC Horsens.
Meanwhile, at the international stage, the 21-year-old has made three appearances with Uganda’s senior national team, The Cranes, having debuted as a teenager in 2023. He has been through the several youth-level ranks, playing for the U17, U20 and U23 teams over the years.
