Gambian forward Muhammed Suso has signed a four-year-contract with Czech first-tier club FK Pardubice, joining on a permanent transfer from Estonian side Paide Linnameeskond, Footy-Africa can confirm.

Suso, 20, enjoyed a strong run of form in Estonia this season, scoring five goals and providing one assist in 14 matches. Since joining Paide in June 2024, he made 27 appearances for the club, steadily building his reputation as one of The Gambia’s promising young talents.

Speaking exclusively to Footy-Africa after his move to the Czech Republic, Suso described the transfer as an unexpected but welcome breakthrough.

“I was not expecting this to be so quick, and it all basically happened from Saturday to Sunday. I was celebrating for Pa Assan Corr’s move to DAC 1904 with him. After training, I received a call from my agent who told me a team in the Czech Republic was interested in me. I said yes, because it is a big league in Europe. I can go there and do my best, then see what happens,” he said.

Suso reflected on the motivation he draws from fellow Gambian teammates at Paide making moves abroad, including Abdoulie Ceesay’s transfer to St. Pauli and Pa Assan Corr’s switch to DAC 1904.

“I celebrate people’s successes because I believe everything is time. I came with Abdoulie and left, and Assan came in January and also left, but I know with time and hard work, I will also move to another top stage. It is about time, they are all my friends, and I was happy for them,” the player noted.

The striker admitted his first season in Estonia was a difficult transition, but his determination paid off.

“The first season was not easy for me at Paide, so when the league finished I went back to The Gambia and told myself I needed to work hard and come back to prove myself. I came back and did my best without listening to negative comments. I scored some goals this season for Paide, and it was different from last season. I was ready for such. Not only that, but I want to go and do the same with Pardubice and see what the future holds,” Suso concluded.

Now at FK Pardubice, Suso is eager to continue his development and make an impact in the Czech First League.

“I am very happy to be at Pardubice and want to work hard and achieve more success and help the team,” he added.

With his move, Suso becomes the latest Gambian youngster to take his career to a higher level in Europe, adding to the growing list of Scorpions making strides abroad.
