Gambian midfielder Mustapha Badjie has completed a permanent transfer to Czech club FK Viktoria Žižkov from Gambian champions Real de Banjul Football Club, Footy-Africa can exclusively confirm.
The move marks another important step in the youngster’s career as he embarks on his first professional adventure in European football following several impressive seasons in the Gambian First Division.
Badjie will reunite with fellow Gambian Ousman Kujabi at FK Viktoria Žižkov after the forward also joined the Czech side earlier this summer from Slovak club FK Železiarne Podbrezová. The arrival of the two Gambians further strengthens the club’s growing African contingent ahead of the new campaign.
During his time at Real de Banjul, Badjie established himself as one of the club’s standout performers. The talented midfielder played a vital role in the team’s recent domestic dominance, helping the capital-based outfit secure three consecutive Gambian league titles.
Renowned for his composure on the ball, energy in midfield and ability to influence games at both ends of the pitch, Badjie has developed into one of the country’s most highly regarded young midfielders. His consistent performances attracted attention from European clubs, with FK Viktoria Žižkov ultimately securing his signature.
The transfer represents another success story for Real de Banjul, whose continued investment in youth development has seen several players earn opportunities to pursue professional careers abroad.
