Pierre Dwomoh has brought the curtain down on his two-year stint in England, completing a return to Belgian football after signing for Lierse SK from Watford.
The Belgium-Ghana midfielder joins the Challenger Pro League outfit on a free transfer and has committed his future to Lierse until June 30, 2028.
Dwomoh, 22, leaves Watford without making a competitive appearance for the club during the opening weeks of the 2026/27 campaign. His move to Lierse was finalised on August 27, marking a fresh chapter for a player who developed his reputation in Belgium before trying his hand in the English game.

The midfielder arrived at Watford from Royal Antwerp in August 2024 in a deal reportedly worth €1 million. Two years later, he departs with his market value estimated at €1.5 million.
Born in Gent, Dwomoh is eligible for both Belgium and Ghana and has built a career around his ability to operate in central midfield. Standing at 1.88 metres and predominantly right-footed, he returns to familiar surroundings with considerable experience of Belgian football behind him.
His professional journey began in the youth ranks of KV Mechelen before he moved to Anderlecht. In 2016, he joined Genk’s academy, where his development accelerated before he broke into senior football.
Antwerp subsequently secured his services from Genk in August 2021 for around €2 million. However, his time with the club was punctuated by loan spells as he sought regular first-team football.
During the 2022/23 season, Dwomoh spent time with Braga B in Portugal before returning to Belgium for a loan spell at KV Oostende. He later joined RWDM for the 2023/24 campaign, gaining further senior experience before returning to Antwerp.
That preceded his move across the Channel, with Watford signing him in August 2024.

His English adventure, however, never developed into the sustained first-team role he would have hoped for. With no appearances recorded in either the Championship or EFL Cup at the beginning of Watford’s 2026/27 campaign, the decision to return to Belgium offers Dwomoh an opportunity to reset his career.
Lierse, meanwhile, acquire a midfielder who already understands the demands of Belgian football and arrives with experience accumulated across several clubs and two countries.
For Dwomoh, the move represents a homecoming of sorts and a chance to reignite a career that once marked him out as one of Belgium’s promising young midfielders.
