Austrian giants Red Bull Salzburg are monitoring Kafue Celtic midfielder Caleb Musonda for a potential move in June, Footy-Africa can exclusively reveal.
The 17-year-old spent a month in Austria last year with the club’s youth team, where he was assessed ahead of a possible move to Europe next summer.
Sources have told Footy-Africa that “he impressed in Austria, and now Salzburg will continue to monitor his progress before they can sign him.”
This development has prompted Kafue Celtic to promote him to the senior team, where he is expected to feature in the Zambian National League.
He could become the second player from Kafue Celtic to join Red Bull Salzburg this year, following the signing of defender Jonnathan Kalimina, who will officially move to the club in January next year when he turns 18.
“Everything looks positive. RB Salzburg trust the Kafue Celtic system so they believe he will continue his development there well before he signs for them. He will go,” another source close to the club revealed.
