Tanzanian and East African giants Simba SC have reached a verbal agreement with attacking midfielder Feisal Salum, and are now in talks with his team Azam FC, over a possible transfer in this window, Footy-Africa can exclusively confirm.

Salum has a year left before the expiry of his contract at Azam, but Simba, who finished second last season, have made their interest formal. Simba intend to offer the 27-year-old a three-year contract that will run until 2028, should the teams strike a deal.

In an exclusive interview with Footy-Africa, a source at IMCo, who represent Salum, has revealed that Simba have agreed personal terms with the player. However, they’ll have to part with €425,000 to buy-out the release clause in Salum’s contract at Azam.

“Simba have an agreement with Salum, with personal terms already finalized. They (Simba) will now make their bid to Azam, who have over the time insisted that any interested parties have to pay out the €425,000 release clause. Simba remain confident that Azam will not make the negotiations difficult, as they wouldn’t want to lose him on a free, when his contract runs put in 2026,” the source exclusively told Footy-Africa.

Azam blocks Feisal Salum’s move to Kaizer Chiefs

Last campaign, Salum, whose transfermarkt valuation is estimated at €150,000, scored four goals and assisted 10 times in 13 appearances across the Tanzania Premier League and the CAF Champions League qualifiers.

In the 2023/24 campaign, in what was a debut year there, he scored a stunning 16 goals and assisted six, in just 15 games. Salum joined Azam from rivals Young Africans SC where he had spent two seasons, as he scored 11 goals with eight assists in 33 matches.

For the Tanzanian National Senior Team, the Taifa Stars, Salum has completed 39 competitive caps, scoring four goals, whilst assisting 12 times.
