Ugandan international striker Steven Dese Mukwala has officially announced his departure from Tanzanian powerhouse Simba SC, bringing an end to a one-and-a-half-year stint with the club, as he officially joins Libyan topflight side Al-Nasr.
Mukwala originally joined Simba from Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko in June 2024 and made an immediate impact, scoring 13 goals across 24 appearances.
Taking to his social media channels, the 26-year-old striker bid farewell to Simba SC with a heartfelt message to fans and teammates.
“Thank you, Simba SC. Some memories will last forever. Till we meet again. Bye.”
In recent weeks, speculation had been mounting over Mukwala’s future in Dar es Salaam, fueled by reports of a breakdown in negotiations between the player and the club over contractual terms.

Sources suggest that Simba viewed Mukwala as expendable following the acquisition of Senegalese forward Libasse Gueye and the return of Clatous Chama.
The club reportedly proposed a loan move to Kenyan side Gor Mahia, a suggestion Mukwala reportedly declined.
As Mukwala closes this chapter in his career, fans will remember his time at Simba for the goals, flair, and memorable moments he brought to the Tanzanian top flight.
