Turkish Super League side Trabzonspor have reignited their pursuit of Göztepe FC’s Nigerian midfielder Anthony Dennis, with plans to push for his signature in the January transfer window, Footy-Africa can exclusively confirm.
The Trabzon giants had made initial attempts to land the 21-year-old during the summer transfer window, but a deal could not be finalized as Göztepe opted to keep hold of their prized asset. However, with the player’s consistent form this season, Trabzonspor have returned with renewed interest.
An exclusive source within Elite Project Group, who manage Dennis’ career, confirmed to Footy-Africa that Trabzonspor have already made fresh approaches for the dynamic midfielder.
“Trabzonspor have reignited their interest in Anthony (Dennis) after missing out on him in the summer. They have made another formal inquiry to Göztepe, expressing their intent to bring him in during the January window,” the source revealed. “Göztepe remain open to negotiations if their €7 million valuation is met. The player is happy at the club but would welcome a move if both sides agree terms.”

Dennis’ stock continues to rise after a stellar start to the 2025/26 season, where he has featured in eight matches, scoring two goals despite operating primarily as a defensive midfielder.
Last campaign, he made 37 appearances and contributed two assists, underlining his growing influence in the Turkish topflight.
The former HB Abuja graduate, who joined Göztepe’s youth setup before breaking into the senior team, is widely tipped as one of Nigeria’s brightest midfield prospects.
At the international level, Dennis, currently valued at €5 million on Transfermarkt, received his first senior national team call-up earlier this year, though he is still awaiting his debut cap.
