Ugandan international and versatile defender Enock Walusimbi is set to leave four-time Uganda Premier League champions URA FC, following a breakdown in negotiations between the two parties, Footy-Africa can exclusively confirm.
Walusimbi and URA had been locked in talks for an extension, as his deal expired on June 30th. However, they didn’t make a breakthrough, following differences in the financial valuation of the new deal in terms of sign-on bonuses and salary.
A source at his representing entity, Lumasa Sports Agency, has confirmed that the 26-year-old has left the team, as URA only offered β¬10,000 for sign-on fees while the defender demanded β¬21,000. Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC and Egyptian side Smouha are monitoring the proceedings.
βThe talks are out, and it’s over between Enock (Walusimbi) and URA. They were positive and all parties were really optimistic that a deal would be struck. But there was a disagreement on the sign-on fees, with URA only offering β¬10,000 of his β¬21,000 demand. Vipers and Smouha in Egypt have shown interest, but bids submitted yet,β the source exclusively told Footy-Africa.
