Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie‘s recent move to English Women’s Super League side Brighton and Hove Albion has earned praise from former Super Eagles shot-stopper Vincent Enyeama.

Enyeama, who made over 100 appearances for Nigeria during his illustrious career with the Super Eagles, exclusively for Footy-Africa expressed his full support for Nnadozie’s switch to the English top flight, describing it as a smart step forward both professionally and financially.

Nnadozie, who has spent the last five years making a name for herself in France with Paris FC, now joins fellow Nigerian international Toni Payne, who plays for Everton, in the English league.

Her transfer comes just as she prepares to represent Nigeria at the Africa Women’s Cup of Nations in Morocco.

Currently regarded as the best female goalkeeper on the continent, Nnadozie holds the title of Africa Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year, and her stock continues to rise in global women’s football.

Enyeama believes the 23-year-old is ready to shine in England just as she did in France.

“I think that it’s a good move for her financial status, which is the most important part, as money answers all things, and I believe she will also do well in England,” Enyeama said. “She is brave and courageous and a very good goalkeeper who has proven herself in France.”

Enyeama, who spent a successful part of his own career with Lille in France, believes Nnadozie has already carved out her identity as a top-tier goalkeeper and does not need much guidance at this point.

“I am not sure that there is much advice that should be given to her, as she is already an established goalkeeper,” he said. “She has already developed her own game style, and I am very proud of her. I wish her all the best in her career in England,” he added.
