Middlesbrough have added a fresh spark to their long-term project, officially confirming the capture of teenage Ghanaian forward Hinneh Lord Listowell, with the deal now pending international clearance.
The 18-year-old striker earned his move to the Riverside Stadium after catching the eye during a trial spell, where his movement, sharp instincts around the box and fearless approach stood out to the club’s recruitment team.

Listowell isn’t arriving empty-handed. Despite his young age, he already has a taste of senior football in Ghana’s top flight, having turned out for both Berekum Chelsea and Asante Kotoko across the past two seasons. Those brief but valuable appearances have given him an early education in the demands of top-level competition.
Developed at the Samba Stars Academy in Ghana, the forward is viewed as a high-upside prospect with room to grow physically and tactically. His progress has also been tracked at international level, where he has featured for Ghana’s youth teams, another marker of his potential ceiling.

At Middlesbrough, the plan is patience rather than pressure. The club see Listowell as a development project, with his initial pathway likely running through the academy or Under-21s as he settles into the pace, intensity and culture of English football.
For now, all that remains is the final paperwork. Once international clearance is secured, Listowell will be free to link up with his new teammates and begin the next phase of his journey in the North East, a big leap for a teenager with a rapidly growing reputation.
