Nigerian midfielder Christopher Boniface has completed a permanent move to Israeli club Hapoel Ramat Gan, signing a three-year contract as he embarks on the next chapter of his professional career.
Speaking exclusively to Footy-Africa, his manager Usman Alfa expressed confidence that the move to Israel will help Boniface reach the next level in his career and potentially earn recognition from the Nigerian national team.
“Boniface has all the potential to become one of the best midfielders Nigeria has produced if he continues on his current path,” he said. “Moving to Israel is another step in the right direction, and signing a three-year contract gives him the stability we have always wanted for him.”
“The Israeli league is very competitive, but I am confident he will do well there. This transfer has been in the works for some time, and I am pleased it has finally been completed. Kelechi Nnorom, my partner, and I always want the best for Nigerian players, and we will continue to guide them and create pathways for them to succeed.
“There are many talented players in Nigeria who simply need the right opportunity to showcase their abilities, and Boniface is one of them. A few clubs showed interest, but Hapoel Ramat Gan demonstrated the greatest commitment, which is why we chose this move,” he added.
The 24-year-old arrives in Israel after previous spells with Armenian clubs FC Van and Ararat Yerevan, as well as a brief stint with Qatari side Al Kharaitiyat.
His move is expected to provide the stability needed to continue his development and establish himself in another competitive league.
Boniface is regarded as a versatile midfielder, capable of playing in several roles across the middle of the park while also contributing further forward in attack. His technical ability, composure on the ball, and tactical flexibility have made him a sought-after player during the transfer window.
The deal was made possible through the collaboration between Usyak Football Academy and Right2Win Academy, the player development organisation owned by Kelechi Nnorom. The two academies worked closely to facilitate the transfer and secure the best opportunity for the Nigerian.
Boniface will now be hoping to make an immediate impact in Israel as he looks to fulfil his potential and continue his rise in European football.
