Months since his exit from Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC, Ghanaian forward Fumador Asiwome is now set to complete his move to Croatian top-flight outfit, NK Slaven Belupo Koprivnica, Footy-Africa sources have exclusively learned.

The 29-year-old is set to land in Croatia later on Saturday for his medical tests, and subsequently sign a three-year contract. This comes after a series of negotiations that eventually led to a mutual agreement between the player and Slaven Belupo Koprivnica.

Asiwome, who joined Vipers in the summer of 2023 on a two-year contract, left in January this year, and has since been a free agent. At the time, Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko FC wanted to sign him, but a deal fell through at the latter stages. A source at Nthoiwa Sports Excellence, who represent the player, has disclosed that the move is imminent.

β€œHe (Asiwome) is enroute to Croatia for his medicals scheduled for Sunday, and if he passes, the contract will be signed on Monday, before official unveiling. The offer on the table is three years, which will come with way bigger terms than the case was at Vipers. He is delighted because this will also be his first move outside Africa,” the source exclusively revealed to Footy-Africa.

At Vipers, having been laid back by various injuries, Asiwome made 13 appearances in the Uganda Premier League over one-and-a-half years, where he scored five goals with two assists. In the concluded season, he netted once in four matches. He has previously featured for Cape Coast Ebusuwa Dwarfs FC, where he scored 20 goals between 2012-2014.

In the past, he also played for Berekum Chelsea in the Ghanaian Premier League, where he netted 22 goals, and at Elmina Sharks FC where he struck six times. Asiwome also played at Elmina Glolamp Academy and Ho Hostel FC where he scored 15 and 10 goals, respectively.

Meanwhile, internationally, the versed striker has previously received national team call-ups both at the Ghana U-20 and U-23 levels in 2014 and 2015, respectively. However, he has yet to receive a call-up to the senior national team, The Black Stars.
