Bernard Somuah Sarpong has officially completed a permanent transfer to RC Celta de Vigo from Asante Kotoko SC, with the Spanish side tying the promising forward to a contract that will keep him at the club until June 2030.

The 19-year-old winger initially arrived in Spain in August 2024 on a loan arrangement that included an option to buy. After impressing consistently during his spell with the club, Celta moved swiftly to activate the purchase clause, securing the young Ghanaian as part of their long-term development plans.

Somuah has enjoyed a rapid rise through the ranks of Celta’s youth structure, widely known as the “Canteira Celeste.” Following a brief settling-in period with the Juvenil A side, the talented attacker earned promotion to the club’s reserve team, Celta Fortuna.

He marked his introduction to the third tier by making his debut in the Primera Federación during the opening round of the season against Zamora CF.

From that moment, the winger quickly became an important figure in the plans of head coach Fredi Álvarez. Somuah has accumulated more than 800 minutes of action in the league, delivering a string of standout displays that underline his attacking threat.

His tally of five goals has been complemented by electrifying pace and sharp dribbling ability, making him a constant menace for opposing defenders in one-on-one situations.

The Ghanaian youngster has also played a key role in Celta Fortuna’s push for promotion this season. One of his most memorable contributions came in a thrilling encounter against CF Talavera de la Reina at the Barreiro Stadium, where he struck a dramatic stoppage-time winner to complete a comeback and hand his side a crucial victory.

His performances have helped drive the reserve side into second place on the table with 48 points, placing them firmly in contention as they chase what could become a historic promotion campaign.
