Italian giants Napoli are reportedly interested in making a move for Ghanaian forward Emmanuel Addai from Azerbaijan champions Qarabag, once the summer transfer window opens.
Antonio Conte’s side have lost pace in their Serie A defence this season and expect to strengthen their squad during the transfer window ahead of the 2026-27 season. They will look to challenge back for the league title and also mount a serious challenge in European competition.
Addai began his senior career in France with Bobigny in 2021, before moving on to Spanish lower division side Alcorcon in 2022. The 24-year-old joined Qarabag in 2024 and has become one of the most reliable and standout performers in the league since his arrival.
He has featured 39 times across all competitions this season and has scored six goals, including one in the 2-0 win over Copenhagen in the UEFA Champions League, highlighting his importance to his side’s setup.
Addai plays predominantly on the left wing, but his versatility also makes him able to play on the opposite flank and also in the attacking midfield role, giving his coach plenty of options.
How much will Emmanuel Addai cost Napoli
Per Transfermarkt, Addai has a market value of around €1.5 million, placing him among the top 10 most valuable players in the Azerbaijan league and the most valuable African player in the league.
However, Napoli might get a boost with his contract expiring in the summer and would only have to agree personal terms to secure the services of the winger.
Napoli will not be the only club interested, as Eintracht Frankfurt amongst other European clubs are also hoping to sign the winger, especially given he would be available for free.
Meanwhile, the Italian club have other targets as they aim to reinforce their attack in the summer and are keeping tabs on the likes of Abdul Fatawu Issahaku and Abde Ezzalzouli, although a move for Addai would mean getting a quality squad player without having to pay a transfer fee.
