Antoine Semenyo has made it clear that his hunger for success is only just beginning after playing an influential role in Manchester City’s commanding 2-0 victory over Arsenal in the Carabao Cup Final on Sunday.
The Ghanaian forward delivered a lively and fearless display at Wembley Stadium, frequently stretching Arsenal’s backline from the right wing. His direct running and attacking intent kept the opposition under constant pressure, helping City assert control as the game progressed.
City eventually sealed their ninth League Cup crown thanks to a decisive second-half double from Nico O’Reilly, but Semenyo’s impact throughout the contest did not go unnoticed.

Speaking after the final whistle, the 24-year-old was visibly emotional as he reflected on securing the first major trophy of his career.
“First of many! I’m excited, I’m happy. And many more to come!” he said.
Having only recently completed his move from A.F.C. Bournemouth in January, Semenyo described his rapid rise at City as almost surreal, while insisting he still has much more to offer.
“It feels like a fairytale if I’m honest. I feel like I have a lot more to show. I want to play wide, as a nine, and show how versatile I am, and just help the team as much as I can,” he added.
The attacker also pointed to the trust and tactical freedom granted by manager Pep Guardiola as a key factor behind his confident display.
“I have that freedom to do what I want, get at defenders and cause problems. That’s what I did today,” he noted.
Looking back on his journey, Semenyo struck a reflective tone, crediting faith for guiding his path to this moment.
“God’s got a plan. It might not work out and you might not know why, but the answer always reveals itself,” he said.
With the cup secured, attention now shifts to the league, where City are determined to close the gap on Arsenal in the title race. Semenyo believes the victory could serve as a springboard for a strong finish to the season.
“I think it gives us a boost and confidence… we just have to do our job and hopefully finish off the job,” he stated.
Now riding high on confidence and already with silverware in hand, Semenyo is firmly focused on building momentum and contributing to what could yet become a memorable debut season in Manchester.
