Nigerian youngster Promise Meliga is turning heads in Scandinavia with his impressive performances for Kristiansund BK, with several clubs already taking notice following a series of eye-catching displays, Footy-Africa can exclusively report.
Sources close to Footy-Africa from Beyond Limits Academy, where he was developed, insist the youngster’s rise comes as no surprise and confirm growing interest ahead of the summer window.
“The boy has done really well, even though I am not surprised this is happening. He was destined to shine, and I am happy he is showing what he can do,” the source exclusively told Footy-Africa. “The loan move from VÃ¥lerenga has been a good one, as he is in an environment with little pressure, and this has helped him settle well and score goals for the team.”
“Yes, I can confirm there are clubs who have been monitoring him in recent weeks and have also made enquiries. There is strong interest from a club in Denmark, but it will be difficult for VÃ¥lerenga to allow him to leave at this stage. Club Brugge have also looked at him, but I do not know how far they have gone with their interest. I expect him to return to VÃ¥lerenga in July, and then we will see what happens. They will have a lot of offers for him,” he concluded.
The highly rated forward sealed a loan move from VÃ¥lerenga after arriving in Europe from Nigerian academy Beyond Limits Academy in September 2025.
The 18-year-old is expected to remain with Amund Skiri’s side until July 15, before returning to the Norwegian capital, but his short stint has already attracted significant attention from scouts across the region.
Meliga has featured in four matches so far for Kristiansund, scoring three goals, but it is not just his goal return that has made him a target for top clubs in the Scandinavian market.
His overall play—movement, precision passing, and relentless pressing—has endeared him to fans and caught the eye of recruiters monitoring emerging talent in the region.
Already, he has been linked with Danish Superliga side FC Midtjylland, while Belgian giants Club Brugge are also reported to be keeping tabs on his progress.
