Turkish Super Lig side Göztepe are on the verge of completing the signing of Gambian international defender Noah Sonko Sundberg from Greek club Aris, with negotiations now at an advanced stage, Footy-Africa can exclusively reveal.
The transfer is understood to be nearing completion, and reports indicate that the 29-year-old has already successfully passed his medical examinations ahead of the move.
Göztepe are expected to pay a transfer fee to Aris for the defender, who only recently became a permanent player of the Greek club following the activation of a mandatory purchase option. The Turkish outfit have moved quickly to secure his services as they continue preparations for the upcoming season.
Sonko Sundberg is regarded as an experienced and reliable defensive presence, having built a reputation for his leadership, physicality, and consistency throughout his career. His performances in Greece attracted interest from several clubs, but Göztepe appear to have won the race for his signature.
The move will see the Gambian international embark on a new chapter in Turkish football, where he is expected to play a key role in strengthening Göztepe’s defensive line.
An official announcement from the club is anticipated within the coming hours, with all major aspects of the transfer reportedly finalized.
