Nigerian striker Rafiu Durosinmi could be on the move again this summer after Pisa’s relegation from Serie A triggered a contractual clause allowing him to leave the Italian club, Footy-Africa understands.

The 22-year-old forward only joined Pisa during the January transfer window, but the club’s immediate return to Serie B has opened the door for a potential departure.

Sources close to the player have revealed that Durosinmi’s contract contains a relegation release clause, enabling him to seek a move elsewhere following Pisa’s demotion.

Pisa are also understood to be willing to listen to offers for the striker, although the Italian side are expected to demand a fee in the region of €8 million for his services.

Durosinmi enjoyed a productive campaign before his move to Italy and remains highly regarded across Europe. His performances have previously attracted interest from several clubs, including Premier League side West Ham United, Portuguese giants Benfica and Turkish outfit Trabzonspor.

Trabzonspor could be in the market for a striker in the summer with Paul Onuachu set to leave.

The Nigerian is currently taking time away from football after marrying last weekend and is enjoying his post-season holiday. However, a decision regarding his future is expected in the coming days as discussions over his next destination gather pace.

With interest from multiple leagues and a release mechanism now in effect, Durosinmi appears set to become one of the more intriguing Nigerian transfer stories of the summer window.

Neither Pisa nor the player’s representatives have publicly commented on his future at this stage.
