Super Eagles striker Umar Sadiq, who once shone brightly with Almeria in the Spanish second division, is once again at the centre of transfer speculation surrounding his future at Real Sociedad.

Since tearing his Anterior Cruciate Ligament days after joining La Real in a €20 million deal in 2022, the Nigerian forward has faced challenges returning to his previous form and regaining full fitness. He spent the latter part of the 2024-25 campaign on loan at Valencia, where he netted five goals to steer Los Ches off relegation.

Although a stay at Real Sociedad is not totally ruled out, Sadiq could prefer a fresh start elsewhere to revive his career.

Here are three potential clubs the Super Eagles star could join before the end of the summer transfer window;

Valencia (Spain)

Sadiq Umar enjoyed an impressive loan stint at Valencia after joining in January 2024, netting five times in 16 appearances. Los Ches have reportedly submitted a loan offer to re-sign the Nigerian star ahead of next season, after turning down a permanent deal at the end of his loan spell due to Real Sociedad high asking price.

A return to Valencia might be appealing to Sadiq, given his familiarity with the club and the form he showed during his previous loan spell.

Getafe (Spain)

Spanish side Getafe have also shown interest in acquiring the services of the Super Eagles striker although they have not made a formal offer to Real Sociedad. The club sees the 28-year-old as a potential replacement for Nigerian forward Christantus Uche, who could exit for the English Premier League.

Samsunspor (Turkey)

Turkish side Samsunspor have identified Umar Sadiq as a target for their center-forward position, although no formal offer has yet been made. After missing out on Chuba Akpom, who is set for a move to Ipswich Town, the club will need to move fast if they are to secure the services of the Real Sociedad forward.

As the summer transfer window draws to a close, Sadiq’s future remain uncertain. The 28-year-old will look to seek a move to secure regular playing time to boost his chances of making Nigeria’s squad for the African Cup of Nations later in the year.
