Nigerian youngster Shedrack Egboh is close to joining Swedish top-flight club AIK Stockholm, Footy-Africa can exclusively report.
The Allsvenskan side have been monitoring the young forward for some time and recently invited him for a trial, where he spent several weeks working with the club’s technical team.
Egboh impressed during his time in Sweden, with his pace, technical ability and understanding of the game reportedly catching the attention of the coaching staff.
His performances prompted AIK to open discussions with Inspire Sports Academy in Nigeria over a potential deal for the player.
AIK, however, were not the only club showing interest in Egboh as he already attracted attention from scouts due to his explosive pace, direct dribbling, quick feet, and ball striking ability.

Footy-Africa understands that Danish giants FC Copenhagen also made a strong attempt to sign the forward.
Copenhagen held discussions with Inspire Sports Academy and pushed to secure his signature, but ultimately missed out on the deal.
There was also interest from clubs in Slovakia, Norway and Belgium, according to sources close to the player.
Despite the competition for his signature, AIK are now understood to be in pole position, with Egboh expected to return to Sweden in the coming days to undergo his medical and complete the formalities of the move.
If the transfer is completed, the young Nigerian will hope to begin his European career in Sweden and follow the path of compatriot Zadok Yohanna, who made a name for himself in the Swedish Allsvenskan before earning a move to Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion.
For Egboh, a successful move to AIK would represent an important first step in what could be a promising career in European football.
