Monday marks a pivotal day in Jesper Ceesay’s career as the IFK Norrköping forward is set to finalise his move to Turkish Super League side Antalyaspor following a successful medical, Footy-Africa can exclusively confirm.
Jesper Ceesay, a rising star in Swedish football, is all but set to seal a €445,000 transfer to Antalyaspor. The Swedish striker, whose impressive performances at IFK Norrköping have caught the eye of multiple European clubs, is expected to sign a four-year contract with the Turkish outfit.
According to the source that exclusively talked to Footy-Africa on thus matter, the deal is scheduled to be officially announced later this week, with the medical exam completed Monday morning.
Jesper Ceesay Set to Seal Permanent Move to Bolton Wanderers from IFK Norrköping
While the move to Antalyaspor is now on the verge of completion, the transfer saga hasn’t been without complications. Initially, Ceesay was linked with another Turkish Super League club, Konyaspor, as the two clubs reached an agreement on a transfer fee.
However, negotiations quickly broke down when Ceesay’s agent reportedly demanded a high commission fee, a demand which Konyaspor was unwilling to meet.
In the world of football transfers, agents’ demands often play a critical role in the success or failure of deals, and in this case, it was enough to derail a potential move. Konyaspor, after careful consideration, opted to pull out of the deal, allowing Antalyaspor to swoop in and secure Ceesay’s signature.
Earlier this summer Bolton Wanderers were in talks over Ceesay’s transfer but the deal never went through.
