Ugandan international striker Patrick Kaddu faces uncertainty over his future, following the expiry of his contract with 2023/24 Uganda Cup champions Kitara FC, Footy Africa has exclusively learned.

Kaddu’s deal with Kitara is set to run out after just one year at the club, having joined from Kenyan Premier League giants Gor Mahia FC. And despite impressing during his time there, he remains unsure about where he will play next season.

Speaking exclusively to Footy Africa, the 29-year-old revealed that he has not yet held talks with Kitara about a contract renewal.

“At the moment, everything is still open. I don’t know where I’ll be next season. I’ve had a good season at Kitara, and the team has been very good to me, but we haven’t had any discussions about a new contract. I haven’t been contacted by the club. If an opportunity comes from abroad, I’ll take it. Or if Kitara eventually come with an offer, I’ll discuss it with my camp and we’ll decide.”

“But I’m not in a rush, as I know I’ll find a new home eventually. My camp is handling everything, and I trust they’ll secure the right move. For now, I’m just soaking in the season and spending time with my family for a couple of weeks,” added Kaddu.

Over two separate spells at Kitara, Kaddu scored a combined 22 goals and provided six assists in 38 appearances. Last season, he recorded seven goals and five assists in 23 appearances for the Royals.

The veteran forward has also featured for KCCA FC and Maroons FC in Uganda, Ismaily SC in Egypt, and Moroccan sides RS Berkane and Youssoufia Berrechid.

Internationally, Kaddu has represented Uganda’s senior national team, the Cranes, at the highest level—including the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt and several World Cup qualifiers. For the Cranes, he has earned 22 competitive caps, scoring nine goals and providing three assists.
