Former Nigeria U-20 winger Suleman Sani has joined Saudi Arabia side Al-Qadsiah on a three-year deal, with the option to extend by another year.
The player’s adviser, Emmanuel Terngu, exclusively told Footy-Africa that Suleiman Sani needed a new environment to rediscover himself, hence the move to Saudi Arabia.
“It’s not a bad move when you consider what he’s been through in the last eight or nine months. Any footballer would have felt it, but the most important thing is to see him happy and playing again. There were other clubs asking about him, but after an injury like that, he needs somewhere calm and settled that can help him get back to his best, and that’s what the Saudi club offered.”
“The Saudi league is strong too as we Cristiano Ronaldo and plenty of other stars are there, both young and old. Sani is young and has a lot ahead of him, but he needs to start playing regular first-team football again.”
“I have no doubt we’ll see him back in Europe eventually, but for now he’s going to wear the badge of Al-Qadsiah, who have shown faith in him. The player is happy, the club is happy, and that’s all that matters,” he added.
The player was the subject of interest from clubs in Belgium and France, but RB Leipzig could not agree on his valuation with those sides.
Saudi Pro League side Al-Qadsiah then paid a fee reported at up to β¬8 million to acquire his services, ending his difficult spell in Germany.
Sani had joined RB Leipzig in January 2026 from Slovak side AS TrenΔΓn, but injury problems and stiff competition for places meant he never made a single competitive appearance for the club.
With Leipzig having signed a host of other forwards, competition for places grew stiffer, and it became clear Sani would struggle to get playing time.
A number of clubs in Belgium and the Czech Republic were keen on him, but Al-Qadsiah’s financial muscle saw off the competition to land his signature.
