Saudi Pro League side Al Qadsiah have completed a surprise move to sign Nigerian youngster Suleman Sani from RB Leipzig.
The winger who recently turned 20, only joined the Bundesliga side in January in a deal worth up to around €6 million from Slovakian side AS Trencin, but has now departed after just a few months, with the Saudi Pro League his next destination.
Suleiman had been tipped to assume a more prominent role in the team following the departure of Ivorian youngster Yan Diomande, who moved to Real Madrid earlier in the summer.
However, he has now moved to the Middle East, where he has agreed a deal that could see him stay at the club until 2030.
Al Qadsiah were in search of more reinforcements in attack as they hope to secure a much higher finish on the standings this season and have now secured one of Nigeria’s biggest young talents. Suleiman’s pace and versatility across attack would also be very key for Brendan Rodgers side over the course of the campaign.
Transfer fee and contract details
Al Qadsiah have agreed a deal worth up to €8 million to sign Suleiman from RB Leipzig. The deal is structured as a €5 million guaranteed fee, with an additional €3 million in transfer and performance related add-ons.
The 20-year-old has also signed an initial three-year deal at the club, with the option of an extra year that could see him stay at the club at least until 2030.
How much will Sani Suleiman earn at Al Qadsiah
The exact salary details of the Nigerian youngster have not been publicly disclosed after completing his transfer to Al Qadsiah.
However, according to Capology, Sani Suleiman earned around €9,308 per week plus bonuses during his time at Leipzig and would be due a significant upgrade in pay after his arrival in the Saudi Pro League.
From Germany to Saudi Arabia
Sani Suleiman moved to Germany earlier in the year after spells in the Nigerian League and also in Slovakia, although he had very little time to make an impact in the Bundesliga.
The youngster has now embarked on the next phase of his career and will be hoping to make a name for himself and potentiwlly go on to become Nigeria’s next big star.
