Tottenham vs Everton match preview

Tottenham enter this clash after picking up their first point of the season in three games when they drew goalless at Nottingham Forest in their last outing. The North London club have endured a dismal start to the seasom under Roberto De Zerbi, who masterminded their survival last season, and remain winless in their three games so far.

They were emphatically beaten by Brighton 3-0 in their first game and also suffered a 2-0 home loss to Newcastle United in their second game of the season. Spurs are currently 18th on the Premier League standings, with just two teams below them after their disappointing start.

Everton, on the other hand, have picked up five points from their three matches so far. David Moyes’ side are unbeaten in the league this season, picking up one win and two draws in their games, leaving them in eighth place on the Premier League standings.

The Toffees began their campaign with a 2-0 win over Everton, before recording a 1-1 draw against Bournemouth in their second league game of the season. Against Manchester United in their last outing, they needed a last-gasp equalizer from debutant Maitland-Niles to seal a 2-2 result.

Prediction

This game would be an open contest with both sides creating multiple chances to score and should produce at least two goals, especially given how both sides have struggled defensively in recent matches.

Ghanaian winger Mohammed Kudus made his return from a long term injury against Newcastle United and is in contention for a starting berth when they face Everton.

His pace, direct dribbling and crossing skilss would offer Spurs a major source of threat in the attack and could prove decisive to getting their first win of the season.
