Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare during an exclusive interview with Footy-Africa has said he is enjoying life at Ajax Amsterdam after making an impressive start to his loan spell, with the Nigerian striker targeting silverware in every competition.
The 25-year-old scored his seventh goal since joining from Wolverhampton Wanderers as Ajax drew 1-1 with NEC Nijmegen on Saturday.
He now has four league goals and one assist, with three further goals coming in the UEFA Conference League.
“It’s been pretty good. It’s been lovely, it’s been amazing,” Arokodare told Footy-Africa. “The Dutch people have been amazing so far. My teammates have been great. The club has been outstanding. I love it. I love the people. I love the style of football. I love the fans so much.”

“They’re very, very supportive. They show me so much love on the pitch and outside the pitch, like in my messages, in my DMs and everything I see, and I appreciate the love. So it’s been amazing.”
Arokodare’s strong start represents a positive change after a difficult spell at Wolves, where he scored three Premier League goals following his move from Belgian side Genk.
His departure from the English club came amid controversy surrounding an alleged training-ground incident, which the striker later addressed publicly. He joined Ajax on a season-long loan in July, with the Dutch club holding an option to sign him permanently.
The Nigerian is now focused on helping Ajax compete for trophies, insisting the club’s ambitions extend to every competition they enter.
“We’re going to try to win everything that’s there to win, everything that we can win, every competition we’re playing in and participating in,” he said.

“That’s the plan, that’s the aim, that’s the point of our season. We’re Ajax, so we always want to be the best, be number one. Every game we play and every competition we’re participating in, we’re trying to win it.”
With seven goals already to his name, Arokodare will look to maintain his form and strengthen his case for a permanent move to Amsterdam. For now, the striker appears settled and determined to make the most of his fresh start in the Netherlands.
