Nigerian forward Excell Agada is set to join Slovakian club AS Trenčín from Golden Boots Soccer Academy in January, Footy-Africa can exclusively report.
A source disclosed that an agreement has been reached for the highly rated youngster to make the move when the winter transfer window opens, with Trenčín beating competition from several clubs to secure his signature.
The forward has reportedly attracted interest from Sweden, Norway and Saudi Arabia, but the Slovakian side appears to have won the race for his services.
Agada is expected to become the second player to join Trenčín in recent weeks, following the arrival of Nigerian youngster Habila Simone as the club continues to strengthen its squad with emerging talent.
The proposed move also highlights the growing connection between Trenčín and Nigerian football, with the club having previously completed deals involving Nigerian players, including Sani Suleiman, Kalu Uche and Moses Simon.
Trenčín have built a reputation as a destination for Nigerian players seeking to develop their careers in European football, offering a potential pathway to senior competition and greater exposure.
For Agada, the January move would represent an important step in his development as he looks to make the transition from academy football in Nigeria to the European professional game.
His physical profile and potential have reportedly attracted attention from clubs in several countries, and a move to Slovakia could provide him with an opportunity to continue his progress in a competitive European environment.
Although the deal is yet to be officially announced, Trenčín appear well placed to complete the signing when the January window opens.
